How It Works

You may be curious about how the remarkable 205 DDS mobile dental unit operates. Let us take you on a journey to explore its fascinating process!

This process requires more than just physical strength and time; it depends on the dedication of our incredible staff, the compassionate efforts of our dental hygienists and assistants, as well as the support from volunteers, Dr. H Cyrus Oates, Dr. Grinter, and the wonderful individuals at RPS 205. Together, they coordinate to provide dental cleanings to the 45 Rockford schools we serve.

The Need

We conduct visits to a total of 45 schools within the 205 district, engaging with students ranging from Pre-K to 18 years old. The collaboration with the school systems for transportation is essential for our program's success, as it ensures students have a reliable and consistent way to access the dental care they need for their health and well-being.

For students requiring additional care, schools will schedule appointments at either Oates Dental or Park City Dental. Occasionally, we encounter specialty cases that necessitate full sedation in an operating room, which is managed by Dr. Grinter.

We are excited to enhance the dental health of our community's youth through these important initiatives.
